Professor Miller's structural engineering and structural mechanics research interests include earthquake engineering, timber structures, cold-formed steel structures and bridges. Recent projects involve seismic screening of facilities, finite element modeling of reinforced concrete bridges, and modeling and behavior of residential timber structures.
He has taught graduate and undergraduate structural engineering and engineering mechanics courses at Oregon State University in structural analysis, steel design, reinforced concrete design, timber design, seismic design, structural dynamics, structural stability, statics and strength of materials.
