Funds are available to provide financial support to a
limited number
of students who would like to attend ILP 2007. Students may apply for
volunteer positions, which are assigned on a competitive basis with
priority given to students who are authors of papers accepted to ILP
2007. Students accepted as volunteers will have
their registration waived. In exchange, students will be required to
assist with the organization of the conference.
The volunteer commitment will be 8-12 hours and may involve assembling
registration packets, checking in attendees, and assisting with
technical sessions, etc. Volunteer applicants will be informed of the
decision by
May 21. Volunteers will be provided with details of their duties once
the conference schedule is determined.
In
addition, volunteers can apply for a travel award which will provide
a small additional amount of support to cover some portion of their
travel expenses. The
exact amount will depend on the number of students and available funds.
Travel award applicants will be informed of the extent of the support
when they are notified of a decision on May 21.
Applicants for volunteer positions should delay
registration until
they are notified regarding the status of their application. If
applicants register before they receive notification, they will be
required to pay the registration fee. This amount will be reimbursed to
them later in case their volunteer status is approved. Note that the
notification deadline of May 21 is after the official early-bird
registration deadline. The early-bird registration deadline will be
automatically extended to May 24 for those students that submit
volunteer applications.
