Over the past several years we (the Decision Theory and Adaptive Systems at
MS Research) have been working with the product support group here at
Microsoft on decision support and improved diagnostics. We shipped the
"enhanced print troubleshooter" in the Windows 95 resource kit and there are
a number of additional Bayesian troubleshooters on the Msweb support site (
http://support.microsoft.com/support/tshoot/default.asp
<http://support.microsoft.com/support/tshoot/default.asp> ). As of today,
15 more troubleshooters, addressing issues such as printing, font, and
networking problems, are shipping worldwide in Windows 98. This
functionality is based on code for Bayes net probabilistic inference and
minimization of expected repair costs provided by our group. We are
particularly excited about this application because all the models and
content were created by the product support group, and the troubleshooting
support will be used by millions of people over the next few years.

Check it out in Windows 98, under Help|Contents|Troubleshooters. There is a
review with a screen shot and description here:
