If you plan to attend the 1999 Conference on Uncertainty in Artificial
Intelligence (UAI'99), please read on.

If you have had problems accessing the UAI'99 registration page, please try
the following URL:

I am in the process of negotiating for an extension to the deadlines for
(1) requesting a hotel room, and (2) contacting the hotel with your credit
card information. If you send a request for a hotel room to the KTH
Conference Office by the close of this Thursday, April 29th, that should be
fine. (Note: The hotel-related deadlines in the web page mentioned above
have not been changed yet.) The KTH Office may not be able to contact you
until next week with information about the hotel that they have reserved
for you. After they contact you, you will need to send your credit card
information to the hotel very promptly, in order to hold your reservation.

In case you are unable to access the UAI'99 registration web page, I am
appending to this message the information you need to request a hotel room.

I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced in trying to obtain
a hotel reservation or in registering for the conference. We are doing the
best we can to make things go as smoothly as possible.

General Chair, UAI'99

Accommodations for UAI'99

UAI has a number of hotel rooms being held for it in Stockholm. Since there
are many activities in Stockholm in the summer, it was not possible to hold
a sufficient number of rooms in just one hotel. Therefore, the conference
is using several hotels. All reservations for these hotel rooms will be
handled by e-mail through the KTH Conference Office. In order to reserve a
room, please send an e-mail message to konferens@admin.kth.se and specify
the following information:

Name: <your name>

E-mail: <your e-mail address>

Fax phone number: <your fax phone number>

Voice phone number: <your voice phone number>

Arrival date: <the date you arrive at the hotel>
Departure date: <the date you depart the hotel>

(Note: A limited number of rooms are being held that allow stay through the
IJCAI conference period. If your departure date above indicates that you
intend to use the room during both UAI and IJCAI, then the KTH Conference
Office staff will try to select a room that is conveniently located to both
conferences. )

Price range: <place an X in front of the price range below that you wish to
request>

Price range A. (about $90 to $125 per room per night, single occupancy)
Price range B. (about $125 to $150 per room per night, single
occupancy)
Price range C. (about $150 to $180 per room per night, single
occupancy)
Price range D. (about $180 to $240 per room per night, single
occupancy)

(Note: Price ranges are approximate. U.S. dollar prices are subject to
changes in the exchange rate. Hotel rooms within a given price range are
subject to availability.)

Occupancy: <Either single, or specify the number of people to occupy the room>

The staff at the KTH Conference Office will try to obtain the best room
available within the price range you specify. They will send you an e-mail
message containing your hotel name, address, phone number, and (when
available) a hotel e-mail address and fax number. After receiving this
information from KTH, it is your responsibility to contact the hotel by
e-mail, voice phone, or fax very promptly with your credit card information
in order to hold the hotel reservation; please be sure to do this!
