Call for Papers for "Belief Functions in Business Decisions"
to be published by Physica-Verlag (A Springer-Verlag Company)

We have been commissioned by Physica-Verlag (A Springer-Verlag Company) to
edit the following volume: "Belief Functions in Business Decisions" to be
published within the series "Studies in Fuzziness and Soft Computing." The
purpose of this volume is to compile the research work being conducted in
the area of business decisions using Dempster-Shafer theory of belief
functions. We invite submission of both theoretical and empirical type
papers. The volume will be published early in the year 2000.

Our schedule is as follows:

May 31, 1999: We should receive a short abstract of the intended
contribution (with your full postal address and e-mail) with the filled out
contributor's form (attached) and the abstract. Please send the
contributor's form and the abstract to both editors.

June 30, 1999: You should receive either an acceptance or rejection of your
proposed contribution. If the contribution were accepted then you would
also receive our comments, suggestions, notational and typing instructions,
etc. for the preparation of your full paper.

July 31, 1999: We should receive from you the camera-ready transcript of
your contribution prepared according to our instructions.

October 31, 1999: You should receive from us information on the definite
acceptance or rejection of your contribution with our comments and possible
requested corrections.

The volume is expected to appear in the early 2000. Let us start the next
millenium with the Dempster-Shafer theory of belief functions for business
decisions.
