Hi, Bruce :-

Cox's book, _The Algebra of Probable Inference_, Johns Hopkins Press, 1961
is his chief work. This has evidently been out of print for more than twenty
years, so it may take some looking to locate a copy.

Cox described himself as heavily influenced by J.M. Keynes' classic
_A Treatise on Probability_, London and New York: Macmillan, 1921; second
edition 1929. It seems easy to find, and may aid in appreciating Cox's
differences with orthodoxy.

I hope that helps, and thanks for the query.
