Friends and colleagues,
(First of all, my apologies if you get this message more than once).

After 3+ very productive and challenging years at SRI, I have decided to move
on to new ventures. I am very grateful for the opportunities to grow both
professionally and personally that I enjoyed at SRI. During my stay there, I
was able to deepen my research in machine learning and statistical induction,
as well as test new waters in areas such as combinatorial chemistry,
communication networks, intrusion detection, and computational biology.

The new challenge is a high-risk high-payoff and lots of fun start-up called
Peasktone (www.peakstone.com). There I will be consulting on advanced learning
and adaptive algorithms. Applications are to quality of service assurance, load
control (at the application level), and capacity determination (based on
managing internet requests at the application level). I will also maintain an
association with Stanford where I intend to continue my current interests in
game theory, economic market systems, auctions, and my "old" interests in
learning, reasoning under uncertainty, and causality. As of the end of next
week (the 18th), I can be reached by email at either
<moises@robotics.stanford.edu> or <moises@peakstone.com>. (Email to SRI will
be forwarded appropriately).

Cheers,

Moises
