                Statistics of Shapes and Textures

                       Special Issue of JMIV

Papers are invited for a special issue of Journal of Mathematical Imaging
and Vision, Kluwer Academic Publishers in the area of statistics of shapes and
textures. The issue is based upon the workshop with same title held September
2000 in Copenhagen, and is open for submission. Topics will include

o Theory of statistical shape and texture models

       o Natural shapes and textures

       o Least committed models

o Shape and texture coding or inference

o Non-linear or non-Gaussian shape and texture variations

o Independent component analysis of shapes and textures

       o Kendall's shape space

       o Statistics and scaling

Full papers must be submitted to JMIV no later than February 12, 2001,
marked "Special issue on shapes and textures", and must follow the normal
guidelines of submissions to JMIV (see http://www.wkap.nl). Papers will be
