Teaching
Teaching is a key element of the academic environment. On this page I share some of the resources I have found online or learned along the way that may be helpful to you as an instructor or teacher. If you have some great ideas you'd like to share, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm quite interested in ways that we can support critical thinking, development of knowledge bases, and preparing our engineers for the bright future that lies ahead for them (and us).
- Our OSU Center for Learning and Teaching is great - and their site provides a multitude of resources to instructors and faculty: http://oregonstate.edu/ctl/ (they are continuously organizing various workshops - the ones I've been to has been great).
- On 04/24/08 I attended a lecture by Ron Ritchhart, a faculty member from Harvard on Thinking Routines - tools and structures to support critical thinking by students. You can visit their site on "Visible Thinking" where you can also download lots of different Thinking Routines: http://www.pz.harvard.edu/vt/VisibleThinking_html_files/VisibleThinking1.html
