Test rules:

1. The test is worth 100 points.
2. Closed book, closed notes.
3. You are responsible for (1) what is in all handouts, (2) what was said in class, (3) what you have done in the projects.
4. The test is designed to be done in one hour, but you will have the full 90 minutes.
5. The test is over promptly at 3:30. Only the tests that have been turned in by then will be graded.
6. No make-up tests.
7. I do re-grades, but the entire test gets re-graded

The test can potentially cover any of the following topics:

• Vector visualization: vector clouds, streamlines, ribbon traces, tube traces. Divergence and Curl.

• Volume Visualization: direct volume rendering, RGBA transfer function, compositing back-to-front. Compromises involved with point clouds, cutting planes, and isosurfaces.

• Stereographics: separate left-right views, how channel the proper view into the proper eye.

• Ethics in Visualization. Kantian, Utilitarian, Intuitionism, Case Study. Claiming exactness. Visualization vs. Conceptualization.

• Compute module: Expressions, outputting a scalar or vector, Mark/Unmark.

• Creating scientific animations: OpenDX Sequencer, percent units, replacing a Scalar or Integer interactor, transforming the scene view, window size, number of frames, exporting a MIFF file, converting to an animated GIF file, converting to an AVI or MPEG file.

• Putting your data into OpenDX-import form.
