"Program" 5 - Applying Questionnaires
Due 11:59 PM, Monday, February 28
Use the questionnaires handed out in class to conduct a team evaluation.
Teams will be assigned in class on Monday, Feburary 21. As announced
previously by email, anyone not in class that day will be unable to participate
(and will receive an automatic zero for the assignment).
Each team must accomplish the following:
- Administer the questionnaire orally to at least 50-60 people. At
least 50 must not be students from Computer Science.
- Record those responses in a single spreadsheet, using the
template spreadsheet provided on this Website.
This will be submitted for consolidation with the responses gathered
by other teams.
- Examine the responses, as a team, and draw conclusions about the trends
that they show.
- Consider, as a team, what factors influenced the responses you got (e.g.,
when, where, and from whom you got responses, and how those might
have created "bias" in the results).
- As a team, draft a "memo" based on the template
memo. This should describe (1) what trends you observed, and
(2) what influences/biases might explain those particular results.
It is up to each team to divide up the responsibilities in an appropriate
way and ensure that each team member participates in roughly equal proportions.
Each team member will also provide assessments of him/herself, the team effort,
and each teammate (see below).
What to Turn In
Only one person on the team should turn in the memo, calling it
teamN.memo.doc (where N is the team's number).
Only one person on the team should turn in the spreadsheet, calling it
teamN.results.xls (where N is the team's number).
Each member of the team should turn in the following items:
- Submit a team assessment form. This should be a
text file named team.txt, created using Notepad or some other text editor;
or use MS Word and save the file as "MS-DOS Text with Line Breaks (*.txt)".
- Submit a self assessment form. This should be a
text file named self.txt, created using Notepad or some other text editor;
or use MS Word and save the file as "MS-DOS Text with Line Breaks (*.txt)".
- For each of your teammates, submit a peer assessment
form. This should be a text file named lastname.txt, where
lastname is the teammate's last name. Create the file using
Notepad or some other text editor;
or use MS Word and save the file as "MS-DOS Text with Line Breaks (*.txt)".
Please do not use winzip this time -- just upload the files separately.
