Research

I am a PhD student in Computer Science at Oregon State University. I am currently working with Dr. Sinisa Todorovic as a research assistant. My research interests include Computer Vision, Object Recognition, and Computer Graphics. I have particular interest in shape matching and object recognition using shapes.

I recently published one paper on Shape Matching at the Graph-based Representation workshop, which was held in May 2009 in Venice, Italy. Here is a link to the publication: Matching Hierarchies of Deformable Shapes

I have also been an active collaborator in the Bug Identification project, which addresses the challenge of automated insect population counting for environmental monitoring.
Our paper Dictionary-Free Categorization Using Evidence Trees was accepted at CVPR'09, which was held in June 2009 in Miami, Florida.

Miscellaneous

I worked as a teaching assistant for multiple classes in the past here at Oregon State University. My duties consisted in grading exams and in holding office hours for the following classes: CS151: Introduction to C programming, CS395: Interactive Multimedia, CS515: Algorithms and Data Structures. I also gave recitation for CS261: Data Structures.

I come from a small island in the Indian Ocean, that is called "Reunion Island". It is a tropical island and I like to refer to it as the French Hawaii. The banner above is a picture of one of the many facets of this little paradise. You will find more about where I come from in the About Me section.
