A human-computer interface can benefit greatly from knowledge of the operator's goals and intentions. One way of achieving this is to use a plan recognition system in an attempt to classify operator actions into higher-level plans. We describe an on-going project which uses plan recognition to extract information about the operator, utilising this to improve the reliability of the interface. We briefly survey the technology used, give an outline of the benefits which such a system can yield and identify some areas in which we feel that the system will make contributions in the future.
