# Grading and Homework Policy

Grades will be computed using the following weights.

- 20% Homework
- 10% Quizzes (2x5%)
- 15% Midterm Exam
- 25% Project
- 30% Final Exam

Grades are assigned using the following standard ranges, after rounding.

≥ 93% = A | 90–92% = A- | |

87–89% = B+ | 83–86% = B | 80–82% = B- |

77–79% = C+ | 73–76% = C | 70–72% = C- |

60–69% = D | ||

≤ 59% = F |

Overall grades will not be curved. However, scores on individual quizzes and exams may occasionally be adjusted upward by a constant factor for the entire class.

All *quizzes and the midterm exam* are closed book and closed notes. For the *final exam* you may bring one page of *handwritten* notes (standard paper size, double-sided is fine).

Teamwork on *homework* is allowed and encouraged. Teams of two or three students may submit a common homework so long as all members are clearly identified on the submission. All students in a team must contribute to a team solution and will receive the same grade. Adding the name of a student who has not contributed to a solution will be regarded as cheating. All team members must be able to explain their homework contribution to the instructor.

Please note that **late homework may not be accepted**. Be sure to submit your assignment on time!
