An interesting new web-based language is called curl, from a company of the same name. Includes features such as generics. Will have to track this to see how it fairs.

My comments about the demise of objective-C appear to be premature. I've learned that objective-C is the basis of the Cocoa programming Environment for Apple OS-X.
