Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
FACIAL EXPRESSIONS RECOGNITION
Applications are invited for a 10 months Postdoctoral position,
starting during the first semester of 2001, and concerned by facial
expressions analysis and recognition.
Our research group is involved in a project dealing with
Person-to-Machine
Interaction tools. The objective of the whole project is to develop new
tools for audio and video analysis and synthesis, in order to make the
person-machine interaction as natural as possible.
The diagnosis group is composed of researchers whose interests are:
signal and image processing, data analysis, pattern recognition,
uncertainty
management using belief functions and fuzzy set theory, and data fusion.
Our
role in the project concerns facial image analysis. Video sequence
analysis extracts low level descriptors of the face, which define the
global motion of the head as well as the local motion of feature points
of the face, and high level descriptors, which will add semantic
information (expressions and emotion recognition).
Applicants must have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer
science, or other related discipline. Monthly salary is 10500 FF
after taxes (funded by the CNRS).
Compiegne is 70 km from Paris (45 mn by train). For further
