An announcement concerning an open position in my department follows.
Rich Neapolitan
POSITION:
One full-time, tenure track faculty position in the Department of Computer
Science, Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, Il beginning Sept. 2001.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field. Candidates should have
a strong commitment to teaching and ongoing scholarly activity. Candidates
in all areas of computer science will be considered. Areas of particular
interest include networking and distributed systems, security, graphics,
software engineering and emerging areas of computing.
RESEARCH:
Northeastern Illinois University emphasizes teaching. In addition,
candidates must have a commitment to research and to the quest for AACSB
accreditation. Research support in the form of reassigned time and grants
is available.
THE COLLEGE:
The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest of the University's
colleges. It comprises 15 departments which offer 15 master's degrees, 23
bachelor's degrees, and 29 minors. In addition, the College is responsible
for the General Education program. The College offers all of the general
education courses that serve the University's undergraduate students.
THE UNIVERSITY:
Northeastern Illinois University is a State-assisted institution located in
the Northwest section of Chicago in a residential neighborhood. The
University serves a culturally diverse student population of 10,400. The
Chicago area offers excellent consulting opportunities.
