SCOPE
The aim of IFDICON'2001 is to discuss modern intelligent forecasting, fault
diagnosis and control techniques based on neural networks, fuzzy logic,
genetic algorithms and their combinations. The participants will find the
opportunity to interact with members of groups working and developing new
solutions and implementations.
TOPICS
Topics include, but are not restricted to, the following, treated by NNs,
FL, GAs and hybrid techniques:
· Forecasting
Data preprocessing; data compression; accuracy, validity, adaptivity and
robustness of forecasting.
· Fault Diagnosis
Fault detection, isolation and identification (FDI). FDI in nonlinear and
large-scale systems. Fault tolerance. Fail safe control. Repair and
maintenance.
· Control
Control architectures, system identification, learning control, adaptive
control, robust control, supervisory control, distributed control.
· Applications
Industrial applications, energy and power, CIM systems, non-industrial
applications, enterprise and societal applications.
VENUE
SANTORINI IMAGE HOTEL (class A)
A beautiful hotel with Aegean Sea Architectural style, equipped with modern
high-level facilities. It is located in the area of Messaria, on the island
of Santorini (Thera) nearby the town of FIRA and 3Km from the airport.
Special room prices will be offered to the participants of the Workshop.
Santorini is connected by direct flights with many European cities.
PAPER SUBMISSION
The Workshop will include both submitted papers and invited sessions. For
submitted papers a 1-page abstract is required. This should be submitted to
the e-mail address :
Proposers of invited sessions should include 6~7 papers and submit together
with the abstracts the title and structure of their session along with the
authors' full addresses (including e-mails and Fax numbers). Papers will be
accepted on the basis of originality, theoretical and practical importance,
validity and clarity.
DEADLINES
· March 15, 2001 : Receipt of electronic abstracts.
· April 1, 2001 : Electronic notification of acceptance.
· May 15, 2001 : Receipt of electronic manuscripts (Maximum 5 double-column
pages).
· June 1, 2001 : Electronic notification of Workshop's program
SOCIAL EVENTS
· A cocktail reception
· A Gala Dinner
· A halfday sightseen tour
FEES
· Before May 31, 2001 US$200
· After May 31, 2001 US$250
· Students US$150
The Fee entitles the participants to all social events and one copy of the
proceedings volume.
POSTWORKSHOP PUBLICATIONS
A number of papers will be selected for inclusion (enhanced versions) in a
Special Issue of the Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems and/or
Mathematics and Computers in Simulation. Other papers will form the ground
of an edited volume to be published by an International Publisher.
