Paper Submission Deadline: April 5, 2001
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Autonomous agents and multi-agent systems are computational systems in =
which
several (semi-)autonomous agents interact with each other or work =
together
to perform some set of tasks or satisfy some set of goals. These =
systems
may involve computational agents that are homogeneous or heterogeneous, =
they
may involve activities on the part of agents having common or distinct =
goals,
and they may involve participation on the part of humans and intelligent
agents. PRIMA is a series of workshops on autonomous agents and =
multi-agent
systems, integrating the activities in Asia and Pacific Rim countries.
PRIMA'2001 will build on the great success of its predecessors, PRIMA'98 =
in
Singapore, PRIMA'99 in Kyoto, Japan, and PRIMA'2000 in Melbourne, =
Australia.
The aim of PRIMA'2001 is to bring together Asia and Pacific Rim =
researchers
and developers from academia and industry to report on the latest =
technical
advances or domain applications and to discuss and explore scientific =
and
practical problems as raised by the participants. The workshop welcomes
submissions describing both theoretical and applied research in =
autonomous
agents and multi-agent systems.
In addition to technical presentations of papers, the workshop will =
include
internationally renowned invited speakers. A limited number of travel
supports will be available.
Venue:
PRIMA'2001 will be held at the Grand Hotel =
(http://www.grand-hotel.org/html/e/ca01.htm),
internationally renowned with its traditional palace style architecture,
located in Taipei city, the capital of Taiwan.
Invited Speakers:
Victor Lesser (University of Massachusett, USA)
Nick Jennings (University of Southampton, UK)
Satoshi Tadokoro (Kobe University, Japan)
Workshop Themes:
Technical issues to be addressed include, but are not restricted to:
- - multi-agent systems and their applications
- - agent architectures and their applications
- - agent programming languages, frameworks, and toolkits
- - agent communication languages, dialogue and interaction protocols
- - languages and techniques for describing (multi-)agent systems
- - standards for (multi-)agents
- - evaluation of multi-agent systems
- - challenging research issues in (multi-)agent systems
- - conflict resolution and negotiation
- - multi-agent planning and learning
- - teams and coalitions
- - social reasoning, agent modelling, organization
- - auctions and markets
- - meta modelling and meta reasoning
Submission:
We require on-line submission through PRIMA'2001 home page
(http://www.lab7.kuis.kyoto-u.ac.jp/prima2001).
We encourage submission in Springer Lecture Notes Series format. The =
length
of papers is recommended to be 12 to 15 pages long in this format. (See =
the
Springer LNCS home page: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html)
Multiple submission policy for papers: Papers that are being submitted =
to
other AI conferences, whether verbatim or in essence, must reflect this =
fact
on the title page. Papers that do not meet this requirement are subject =
to
rejection without review.
Important Dates:
April 5, 2001 submission deadline of papers
May 12, 2001 notification of acceptance
May 31, 2001 final camera-ready paper due
July 28-29, 2001 workshop
Review:
All submissions will be reviewed on the basis of relevance, originality,
significance, soundness and clarity. At least three referees will =
review
each submission independently.
Publication:
Selected papers will be published as a volume in the Springer Lecture =
Notes
in Artificial Intelligence series. Other accepted papers will be =
published
in the Workshop Proceedings.
