Kenneth H. Funk II, PhD

Emeritus Associate Professor
Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering
Oregon State University

I have retired.

I will continue to check e-mail and voice-mail, but only sporadically. Sorry, but I do not promise to respond to every message.

Besides just enjoying retirement, I plan to supervise my remaining graduate students to the completion of their degrees by June 2020, but I will not take on any new graduate students. I also plan to finish up a few more academic projects, including a book with the working title, Technology and the Good Life, based on my Honors Colloquium of the same name.

In my absence, here are some referrals that may be of help:

  • If you are a former student wanting to pick up your work from one of my courses, it is probably in Batcheller Hall 050. Stop by there and ask Steven Hattrup for help.
  • I you are inquiring about human factors graduate studies, contact one of OSU's Human-Centered Design faculty.
  • If your inquiry concerns Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering undergraduate programs, contact my successor as chair of the Undergraduate Program Committee, Javier Calvo.
  • If all else fails, contact the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering.
