CS406 Projects

The School of EECS allows you to take a blanket credit course called CS406 - Projects with an instructor of your choice. This means you can do a project, for a term, for between 1 to 4 credits(verify this with your advisor), with an instructor of your choice

If you want to do a CS406 with me, I am open to your project ideas as well as have some project ideas of my own that you could work on. I usually supervise CS406 projects in Summer and Fall term but might be available other terms depending on my teaching schedule. To do a project with me, please email me your project idea at least 2 weeks in advance of the term starting. It is ok to send a project idea during the break between terms but I might not get to you quickly. Sending it early also allows you to find another advisor in case I am not available.

The School does have some resources (software, AWS access, etc) that you can use for these projects. So before spending any money out of your pocket on buying these resources for your project, please check with me.

When doing a CS406 project with me, I will usually ask you to fill the form (linked below) and suggest the evaluation criteria that you would like to be used for evaluating your project. I will advise you of any changes that I think you should make to the form.
