ERRATA  DESCRIPTION

35, 37

Example 1.4, watershed area should be 28.16 mi2 on p. 35. Fourth column in table at top of p. 37 (Ai/AT) is wrong.  Those ratios should be:

0.062

0.238

0.063

0.463

0.029

0.095

0.050

49

Column heading in table at bottom should be f, not F.

71

Prob. 1.17, part b) should ask for total storm rainfall depth.

121

Eqn. 2.18 is missing exponent 0.7 for (S+1) term.  (See correct equation on page 126.)

126

In the top equation, superscript in denominator should be

1/2, not 1/.2

146

Usual abbreviation for Streamflow Synthesis and Reservoir Regulation model is SSARR.

152

Fourth sentence from bottom: “Available water” on NRCS Soil Properties and Interpretation Sheets is difference between field capacity and wilting point, which is not necessarily the same as Md.

168

Caption for left photo at top of page should read: Flooding of the Willamette River at Corvallis, Oregon, February 1996. Photo by Tony Overman.  Courtesy Corvallis Gazette-Times, with permission.

173

Bottom table, the first two cumulative frequencies are wrong. Should be 1.33%, not 2.67% and should be 18.67%, not 20.00%.

175

Eqn. 3.6, left-hand side should be P(X1 U  X2) =

186

Wrong equation used for A-coefficient in Example 3.3.  Should have used equation on page 184 for |Cs| ≤ 0.90.  This gives the following corrected values: A = -0.1923, V(Cs) = 0.1049, W = 0.742, and Cw =  -0.1161. Since all subsequent computations in Chapter 3 depend on the incorrect value of Cw = -0.1242, the corrected value is not carried through the rest of the examples.  Changes to subsequent numerical computations would only be very slight.

196

Example 3.8, Eqn. a) should have a minus sign inside the parentheses instead of an equal sign

241

Q = outflow, not O

351

Switch titles in table slope So and channel slope S in Table 5.10

446

Problem 6.20b. Solve for the peak flow at T=25 yrs, not 10 yrs.

446

Problem 6.21. Limit for equation for intensity vs. duration is 3 tr ≤ 400 min.  Do not use for tr < 3 min; stop computations at 3 min if indicated.

469

The equation should be R2/3, not R2/.3
