A postdoc position is available starting October at the CoRIS Institute of Oregon State University. The postdoctoral scholar will work on the problem of visual common sense reasoning, with an emphasis on combining continuous-space sequential decision models such as recurrent networks and reinforcement learners with symbolic approaches such as finite state machines. Applicants should hold a PhD in computer vision, or machine learning. We are most interested in experiences in sequential models, deep reinforcement learning, planning, symbolic machine learning, video prediction, video object segmentation and multi-target tracking, A strong research record is required, documented by recent publications in the past 3 years at first-tier conferences (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NIPS, ICLR, UAI, RSS) and journals (IJCV, PAMI, JMLR). We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who enjoys working in a collaborative research environment. Good communication skills and fluency in English are required. The post-doctoral position is provided for up to 3 years with competitive salary. The starting dates are flexible.
