Assignment Overview + Topic From the class website: "Present...a talk presenting a topic of importance to this class. This will be a 15-20 minute talk in the spirit of a tutorial that supplements the class learning experience." This is very broad. Generally, your talk should provide high level information, relevance, and a discuss of how an average 473 student could apply the knowledge they learned ("spirit of a tutorial") I would recommend presenting on something that you have experience with. Since microcontrollers and embedded design are very broad topics, your topic could be on nearly anything. Some examples that might be acceptable: -Design approach for embedded PCB designs -Inertial sensors: how they work, and how to use them -Using LORA protocol for long distance communication -Interfacing with different ADC topologies: what to know when selecting and implementing an embedded design -Basics of uC DSP I would like advance knowledge of your presentation to make sure it fits with the class and you are reasonable familiar with what you will be speaking on. You should have a topic and 2-3 paragraph description of what you will be discussing. This should include the relevance to class, and what experience/research you have done so far on the topic. If you are in 473 this submission is what will officially declare your commitment to giving a presentation. Presentation Deadline + Preliminary Material You should have at least ten slides in your presentation. On the deadline please provide a rough draft of your slides. This draft should be at least 10 slides. Quality wise, you should be able to give an actual (although unpolished) presentation with them. The purpose of these is so I can see how you are planning to cover your topic and provide feedback if course correction is necessary. Here you will also provide a 1 paragraph summary of your topic. Presentations We will have presentations during week 9. Depending on how many people wish to present, we may expand the presentations to week 10 or week 8 as well. I will send out a schedule with an order of speakers and their 1 paragraph summaries. Please let me know in advance if you have a preferred order (i.e. first presentation, last presentation).
