Announcements :

1. model-based clustering web page
2. MCLUST tech report
3. emclust enhancements
4. MCLUST for Windows

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The web page

http://www.stat.washington.edu/fraley/mclust_home.html

has been set up with links to the MCLUST software site and other web sites
of interest for model-based clustering. The page includes information
on how to subscribe or unsubscribe to the `mclust' mailing list for
occasional announcements on issues related to model-based clustering
and the MCLUST software.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

A (postscript) technical report describing the MCLUST software is now
available --- see either the `MCLUST software' link or the `related UW
Statistics technical reports' link at the above web page.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Within the MCLUST software, functions emclust() and emclust1() and their
summaries have recently been revised to make it easier to recover parameter
values for different models and numbers of clusters.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The MCLUST software is now available for Windows users. A WinZip file can
be downloaded that includes the necessary Fortran object code and S-PLUS
functions. See the `MCLUST software' link at the above website, or the
S-archive of Statlib (http://www.stat.cmu.edu/S/mclust).
