To: All organizations in the Product Delivery Process (PDP)

Entering the 90's, Xerox continues to build on a 50 year tradition of developing leadership products whose innovation and performance define quality standards for the industry while meeting our customers' needs.

The Development and Manufacturing organization bears a major responsibility for enabling Xerox to perform as a market-driven company, consistently delivering products which fulfill our Quality, Cost, and Delivery commitments. The Product Delivery Process, or PDP, is the Development and Manufacturing guideline by which we manage our product programs. Using PDP will help Product Delivery Teams and senior management to focus on results and reach benchmark QCDs.

PDP applies Leadership Through Quality in our design and development environment. The process builds upon past and current product program experience as well as benchmark practices within Xerox and the industry. It helps us to continuously improve quality, repeating successes while avoiding efforts which have proven unacceptable.

The Product Delivery Process is not a substitute for good management judgement. It is an important tool our people should understand, use, and continuously improve, because PDP exists for results - leadership products which achieve Customer Satisfaction and Return on Assets.
