Once you have some understanding of complex systems and how they work, and you are capable of visualizing ideas and gathering/sharing data, the doors open for you to continue exploring even more. It is at this point you can formulate your own experiments and theories, trying to make sense of the world and everything in it. I did something similar, crafting the framework for a potential experiment to observe how one's eyesight can be impacted by prolonged screentime. After making such an experiment, you could share your information to the public so it can be of use.

Perhaps experiments are not your specialty, but you can very easily collect data on some aspect of yourself you wish to improve, either for health or self-improvement reasons. This is exactly what I did for Spring 24, electing to collect some data regarding the hours I sleep and whether or not I eat breakfast in the morning. In this scenario, the data you collect will probably not be of much use to others, however in doing so you conduct biological research on yourself. You can observe your daily life and formulate plans to make lifestyle changes, in this case to maintain the structure and function of yourself.
