                                    Prolongation:

               The deadline for paper submissions
has been extended to February 15, 2000!

I am pleased to invite you to our Congress during EXPO 2000 in
    Hannover, Germany.

The Call for Paper has been mailed in paper form in big numbers.
Actually we are distributing the electronic version. Due to technical
problems we are a little late in our mailing. Therefore the deadline
for paper submission has been prolonged.

We are expecting proposals for a sound contribution from you and
your colleagues. Instructions how to prepare research papers and
    application
reports are enclosed. A description of the procedure to submit proposals

for tutorials and workshops is also given in the enclosed material.

Electronic registration of contributions is available on our web-sites
    http://www.hcc.de and http://www.mie2000.de)

Please have a look at the announcement and find those topics that
describe your research area. Present results of your activities in the
framework of our international congress during EXPO2000. Awards will be
given to authors and best contributions (see enclosure). Do not miss
    this event!

Participation will be exciting and affordable. Registration fees are
    lower than ever
and include nearly all you expect from a conference like that.
Accommodation is available in various categories but needs an early
    booking for receiving reasonable rates.
MIE 2000 /GMDS 2000 addresses especially young scientists. We are
preparing support for presentation and travelling. Feel free to contact
    us.

Looking forward to see you in Hannover, one of the origins of medical
    informatics.

    Rolf Engelbrecht
    President EFMI
