JOB DESCRIPTION
Become a member of a team that investigates and acquires existing
technology or develops new methods and tools for diagnosis decision
support to help reduce the cost of airline and military maintenance
operations. Advanced Computing Technologist to evaluate and develop
conceptual designs and prototypes for new digital products that meet
unfulfilled customer needs. Responsible for planning, organizing, and
conducting demonstrations of advanced, state-of-the-art, technologies
for potential application to company product development
requirements. Works in a project team environment with other
technologists and programmers/ analysts, evaluating state-of-the-art
technologies, developing guidelines for transfer and use of such
technologies, and assisting potential users.
DESIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Advanced degree in Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer
Science or related Engineering fields, with experience in technology
research and software development. Required working knowledge of
mathematics, probability and statistics, and soft-computing reasoning
methods (e.g. fuzzy logic, probabilistic reasoning). Preference will
be given to candidates with demonstrated ability in knowledge
acquisition techniques for building graphical probabilistic models,
and the development of software production systems. The candidate
should have a proven track record of applying advanced technical
expertise in a teaming environment that requires a high level of
creativity, and the ability to guide/train others and to communicate
technical matters to both technical and non-technical personnel.
