    Dr Toby Walsh and Dr Suresh Manandhar have recently been awarded an
    EPSRC research grant to develop stochastic constraint programming, a
    new framework for dealing with uncertainty in constraint
    programming. A post is now available in the Artificial Intelligence
    Group to work on this project. You should be a postdoctoral researcher
    with a background in either constraint satisfaction or uncertainty.

    The appointment is for a period of up to two years from 1 October 2001
    with a starting salary up to 20,465 per annum on Grade IA of the
    scales for research staff.
