Biography

I attended to Chief Sealth High School in West Seattle, Washington, then enrolled at the University of Washington where I majored in physics and mathematics. I then switched my major to electrical and computer engineer in my senior year. After completing my B.S. degree in Computer Engineering at UW, I spent a few years working at Intel and Microsoft. I then went to the University of California, Berkeley to study under Professor Avideh Zakhor in the EECS Department. I was fortunate to work with Professor Zakhor and many bright colleagues in the VIP (Video and Image Processing) lab, who introduced me to signal processing and networking.

After completing my Ph.D. in December 2003, I worked briefly in the Sapphire group at the Center for Applied Scientific Computing of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). In September 2004, I joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Oregon State University as an assistant professor.
