Landslide Generated Tsunami and Tsunami-Structure Interaction

Solomon Yim, co-PI with Dr. Philip Liu at Cornell University

Professors Philip Liu of Cornell University and Solomon Yim examine runup and rundown and the effects on coastal structures due to landslide-generated tsunamis. Numerical models and analytical predictions will be calibrated with experimental data from the Tsunami Wave Basin at Oregon State Unversity and other facilities.

2D finite-difference with structured grid RANS/k-e model and rigid body dynamics Aerial landslide induced tsunami.

2D finite-difference with structured grid RANS/k-e model and rigid body dynamics Subaerial landslide induced tsunami.
